Die Freak Camp Session kehrt zurück aus der Sommerpause und eröffnet die neue Saison mit dem “Bassism meets Dubsquare” Special.

Als Freund des Freak Camp konnte der gebürtige Kalifornier The Lexxus schon letztes Jahr alle Anwesenden von seinen ausgefeilten DJ Skills und seiner wilden Selection überzeugen. Diesmal tritt er als Besitzer des neuen Labels Bassism Records in Erscheinung und wird mit frischen Dubplates aus dem Plattenkoffer und seiner gewohnt energiegeladenen Performance die Menge wieder einmal zum Toben bringen.

Simon/off veröffentlichte 2005 seine Debüt-EP auf dem Grazer Imprint Houseverbot und hat seitdem kontinuierlich den eigenen Sound weiterentwickelt, stark beeinflusst von Dubstep, IDM und verwandten Genres der elektronischen Tanzmusik. DJ-Support seiner aktuellen Produktionen kommt beispielsweise von Distance und Bunzer0. Seine berauschenden Live-Sets faszinierten bereits Partygäste in London, Berlin, Wien und natürlich in seiner Heimatstadt Graz.

IZC repräsentiert einen deepen, darken und gleichzeitig perkussiven Sound mit starkem Einfluss aus Detroit. Seine Debüt-Veröffentlichung auf eigenem Label Dubsquare Records kommt in verschiedenen Genres gut an. In seiner wöchentlichen Radioshow auf Sub FM ist die Betonung auf Dubstep eher zweitrangig. Geprägt wird die Sendung durch regelmäßige Ausflüge in diverse historisch zusammenhängende Musikgenres, unveröffentlichte Musik von neuen talentierten Artists und einen speziellen Fokus auf die Szenen in Mitteleuropa.

El Rakkas bestehen aus Raz Marty und Christo FX, wobei Raz Marty’s Wurzeln mehr in der Grazer Reggae Szene liegen und Christo FX stärker vom Minimal Techno beeinflusst ist. Das Markenzeichen von El Rakkas ist die einzigartige Kombination aus dubbigen Subbässen und verspielten Beats, wie man sie bestens vom 2-Step kennt. Die letzte Veröffentlichung kam sehr gut in der internationalen Dubstepszene an und wird auf verschiedensten Radiosendungen gespielt, wie z.B. auf dem in London basierenden Sender Sub FM.

The Freak Camp Session is back from a well-needed summer break and we start the new season off with a bang - our “Dubsquare meets Bassism” Special!

As a friend of the Camp, born Californian The Lexxus last year already showed the crowd of Berlin that he can heat up the dancefloor with fresh hot tunes and proper mixing skills. Well he’s back - hailing as owner of brandnew label Bassism Records, and aiming to once again rock the town with his energetic on-stage performance.

Debuting with his Soon EP on Graz’ Houseverbot imprint in 2005, Simon/off has been constantly evolving his unique sound, heavily influenced by Dubstep, IDM and related genres of electronic dance music. His current productions are getting DJ support from the likes of Distance and Bunzer0, and his intoxicating live shows have already fascinated audiences in various cities such as London, Berlin, Vienna and last but not least his homebase Graz.

While Raz Marty has his roots in Graz’ Reggae scene, Christo FX is strongly influenced by Minimal Techno. The trademark of their productions as El Rakkas is the combination of a dubwise subbass with laid-back beats based on 2-step structures. Their recent tunes have been well received by the international Dubstep scene and can be heard on several radio stations such as London’s Sub FM.

Representing the deep, dark and at the same time percussive end of the spectrum with strong Detroit influences, IZC’s debut on his own imprint Dubsquare Records has been well received across the genres. In his weekly radio show on Sub FM, the emphasis on dubstep is seconded by regular excursions to historically related music genres, and unreleased music by fresh talent is strongly supported with a special focus on the scenes in Central Europe.
