„Hessle Audio“ hat sich wie kaum ein zweites Label in kürzester Zeit ins Rampenlicht der Dubstep-Szene katapultiert. Mit nur vier Veröffentlichungen haben die Macher das Kunststück vollbracht, einen eigenen, unverwechselbaren Klang zu entwickeln. Der „Hessle“-Sound wird dabei durch zwei Hauptbestandteile definiert: Die Wiederbelebung des 2step-Rhythmus und die Einbindung von Minimal Techno Sounds. Kein Wunder, dass DJs wie Kode9, Pinch oder Martyn große Fans des Labels sind und Pole einige Tracks aus dem Labelkatalog für eine bald erscheinende Kompilation selektiert hat.

Ramadanman hat „Hessle Audio“ zusammen mit Ben UFO und Pangaea gegründet und ist der bekannteste Name des Trios. Er ist bekennender Techno- und House-Fan und hat als Produzent bisher auf Labels wie Soul Jazz, 2nd Drop und Bare Dubs veröffentlicht.

Ben UFO hat sich als virtuoser DJ mit Vorliebe für die Überschreitung von Genre-Grenzen einen Namen gemacht. Neben „Hessle Audio“ betreibt er zusammen mit Ramadanmann außerdem die Radiosendung „Ruffage Session“ auf dem Onlinesender Sub FM, sowie eine gleichnamige Partyreihe in Leeds.

Als Special Guest hat sich zudem der in London ansässige Exil-Finne ROKO (Sub FM) angesagt, der für den breaksteppigen Ausgleich zum deepen, techno- und 2step-infizierten Hessle Sound sorgen wird.

Spring has finally arrived in Berlin - it’s about time for all of you to wake up from your winter sleep, get out snd maybe even shake a leg somewhere! For the latter, we recommend our Freak Camp Session on Saturday, which boasts an extra-fresh line-up with Hessle Audio’s Ramadanman and Ben UFO and - as a special guest - Sub FM’s London-based Finnish expatriate ROKO.

“Hessle Audio” may only have put out four releases yet, but their unique approach of blending techno sounds with deep sub bass and a touch of 2step beats has quickly made them one of the most influential dubstep labels of the moment. This has been also recognized by such heavyweights as London’s Soul Jazz label, who put a Ramadanman tune on their highly influential “Box of Dub 2″ compilation and Berlin’s avantgarde-dub-techno legend Pole, who signed about half of Hessle’s back catalogue for an upcoming compilation on his label “~scape”.
